Take This One Extra Step to Extend the Life of Your Outdoor Lights

 

When you’ve created a flawless outdoor space with the perfect lighting, you want to enjoy it for decades to come. UltraLights wet location fixtures are crafted with stainless steel and are available with marine-grade primer for more exposed damp environments. 

 

However, to extend the life of your outdoor lights (and for some extra peace-of-mind), we recommend taking one small extra step when installing a fixture in a wet location: apply silicone sealant around the backplate. 

 

This helps to protect the power source and electrical components inside from moisture and also keeps bugs from sneaking in behind the backplate. Remember, when applying silicone sealant, focus on the top and sides—leave the bottom free for drainage and ventilation.
